If you contrast one thing with another, you point out or consider the differences between those things.
When you compare things, you consider them and discover the differences or similarities between them.

oxford:
contrast ~ (A and / with B):
to compare two things in order to show the differences between them:
compare ~ A and B| ~ A with / to B:
to examine people or things to see how they are similar and how they are different:

所以说啊....这些问题完全可以通过查字典来解决。大家一定要学会多查英语字典，最好买一本牛津或朗文，这些字典一辈子都可以当你的英语老师。这是学习英语最基本的一项技能。
