这句话中，the process 是assimilation的同位语，
by which minorities are absorbed into the dominant culture.为定语从句，修饰the process ，化作一般的句型就是minorities are absorbed into the dominant culture by which(即the process)
搜了一下出处，原来又是几百篇上的阅读，建议楼主将相关的基础语法（从句，分词，倒装，强调句型）先温习一篇再动手做题目。
